Department Overview

    The Justice Court of the Village of Fredonia consists of a Village Justice elected for a four-year term and an Acting Justice, appointed by the Village Board, who serves only if the Village Justice is absent or disqualified.  The Justice Court is held every Wednesday and has jurisdiction over misdemeanors, violations, and offenses under state and local laws as well as felony arraignments before they are transferred to County Court.  Violations of the Village ordinances are prosecuted by the Village Attorney.
