Duties and Responsibilities

    The Village of Fredonia has established the Village of Fredonia Planning Board.  Efforts are made to ensure qualified members of the Planning Board represent a variety of ethnic, professional, and civil groups in the Village of Fredonia.
    The Planning Board consists of five members, none of whom shall hold any other public office or position in the Village of Fredonia.  At the annual organizational meeting, a chairperson is elected by a majority of the members present.
    All meetings of the Planning Board are held at the call of the chairperson and at such other times as such Board may determine.  In general, meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
    The Planning Board has the full power and authority to make investigations of maps and reports and recommendations relating to the planning and development of the Village or other matters as referred to the Planning Board by the Board of Trustees.
    The Planning Board has the power to act on any matter which the Planning Board is required or authorized to act by the provisions of the Village of Fredonia ordinances, by general law, or by any actions of the Board of Trustees.
    The Planning Board is charged with the responsibility of subdivisions review and approval, and designated to act as lead agency for site environment review procedures.
